Catalonia Young Cooking Contest

Catalonia Young Cooking Contest

This contest is held as part of the Gastronomy University Meeting (GUM), and decides on who is the Best Young Cook in Catalonia. It is one of the oldest culinary contests in Spain, at which the guest chef is president of the jury.

The subject is different each year and is the same as that of the GUM. The contest is also participated by students and professionals under the age of 26 residing in Catalonia, which is acknowledged as one of the most important gastronomic regions in the world.

Apart from the Absolute Prize, special mentions are also given for the Prize for Skill and the Best Preparation Technique, Prize for Imagination and Creativity, Prize for the Best Presentation and Prize for the Best Application of the Subject of the Competition.
