6 April, 2022What is cool in the hospitality industry right now? And why? What are the new trends in hospitality and in the food and beverage industry?
One of the subjects of the Master in Hospitality Management study plan is trends in hospitality. Led by professor Carl Rohde, the coolhunting sessions aim to train business professionals to become more trend and innovation sensitive. The methodology begins with the presentations of different trends of different areas: hospitality, food and beverage, digital marketing, etcetera.
After that, the students hunt for “cool seeds” in Barcelona. The aim is to grab new ideas and new trends that are taking place in the city or in different places they know.
Once in class, the third phase of the methodology is choosing the best stories and share some of them in the Science of the time’s Futurists Club blog.

New trends, new ideas. The articles published in the blog Science of the time’s Futurists Club by the students of the Master in Hospitality Management deal with the most varied topics: from the role of robots in the hospitality industry, to the growth of the so-called “Virtual Dining Concepts”, going through novelties such as the use of television screens in hotel rooms that simulate fantastic and relaxing views or cases such as a restaurant in Bangkok (Thailand) that places a stuffed panda bear as a customer in each table.
