Two students from the 3rd course of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management represent EUHT StPOL at the HSD Annual Conference (Berlin)

During the event, the students have had the chance to be involved with HSD and to make an important network with the student board and the directive board

For the third year, the Hotel Schools of Distinction (HSD) board invited a delegation of students of each hospitality management university to join the conference that takes place in on of the HSD members.  In this case, the organizers were IUBH – Berlin Campus.  Therefore, ourselves (Laura Risquez and Laura Triadu -3rd year Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management students) joined our Director, Mr. Lluís Serra (Executive Secretary of HSD) to the event that took place in Berlin on March 8th and 9th.

During these days, we had the chance to personally meet not only the representative students from those universities but also their  Deans and Managing Directors.  For this event, the represented institutions were Indiana University, Florida International University and Niagara University (USA), Hotelschool The Hague (Netherlands), IUBH (Germany), Haaga Helia (Finland), ITQH (Canada), and the new joining member Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland)

The relate of our students

We had the pleasure to work aside with students from other universities to improve the HSD brand. After 2 days of discussions and debates about the HSD, the conclusions reached by the student board to ameliorate and increase the awareness of HSD, which can be applied to each student from each school is starting raising recognition of these alliance and brand through our social media sites, to do so, we would like you to share and like the official HSD Facebook page and Instagram.

We had an amazing experience sharing time with incredible students from different cultures and University programs, that brought us a distinct perspective of other educational systems, manners of learning and communicating.

Not only we had the chance to be involved with HSD, but the network made during these days with the student board and the directive board is invaluable.

Besides the hard work, we had the opportunity to have a private tour of Berlin and a visit to The Ritz-Carlton Berlin and to taste a cocktail in the Fragrances Bar, the first bar in the world to harmoniously combine perfumes and their aromas with cocktails.

This has been an excellent event which one of us, to maintain continuity, will have the possibility of returning to the HSD board meeting next year, accompanied with one of the 3rd year students which will be decided the following school year.
