13 September, 2021The Ana G. Méndez University (UAGM) Carolina Campus in Puerto Rico and the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote student exchange between both universities.
The agreement was signed by the rector of the Carolina Campus of the UAGM, Dr. Felix R. Huertas González, and by the Managing Director & CEO of EUHT StPOL, Lluís Serra; in a virtual meeting that took place yesterday, September 7, 2021.
“This collaboration agreement means mutual enrichment for both institutions, but also and, above all, for students who will benefit from sharing experiences at EUHT StPOL and UAGM and acquiring new knowledge in an industry, such as hospitality and culinary arts, in which having an international profile is very important”, stated Lluís Serra.
The agreement includes cooperation between universities to promote the exchange of students in different academic programs of both institutions, specialized in hospitality management, tourism, culinary arts and kitchen management.
“The exchange of knowledge in the hospitality industry is an added value, and even more in a post Covid-19 scenario in which the industry seeks and will continue to seek the best-trained professionals,” said Serra.
With this agreement, EUHT StPOL and UAGM resume the interrelation that they maintained years ago and through which different UAGM students participated in the summer courses in hotel management and culinary arts at our university.
“We hope that this alliance will serve as a bridge between the Caribbean and Spain, in this case, between Puerto Rico and Sant Pol de Mar – Barcelona, so that we can continue developing different projects,” said the rector of the Carolina Campus of the UAGM , Dr. Felix R. Huertas, during the signing of the agreement.
In 2021 EUHT StPOL adds its 55 years of experience training professionals in the hospitality and tourism industry. For more than three years it has been one of the best universities in the world in Hospitality & Leisure Management according to the QS World University Rankings and also in 2021 and for the third consecutive year, it is ranked #1 in Spain in Hospitality and Leisure Management.
