EUHT StPOL students participate in the Nordic Business Forum during their Erasmus in Helsinki
12 November, 2019Leadership and teamwork: essential soft skills for hospitality management
9 December, 2019If the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL) had a walk of fame reserved for great chefs, today it would have a collection of 8 Michelin stars born between its walls. These belong to six chefs who once studied in one of EUHT StPOL’s academic programs and now lead restaurants with one and two Michelin stars. They are not a new entry in the Michelin Guide Spain and Portugal 2020, but all of them consolidate the star or stars they had and one of them manages to add the second Michelin star. Who are they? We tell you in the following lines.
It is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the gastronomy, cooking and catering sector. On November 20th, Seville hosted the presentation gala of the Michelin Guide Spain and Portugal 2020 that recognizes the best restaurants in the Iberian Peninsula.
In total, in this 110th edition of the guide, eleven restaurants in Spain have three Michelin stars and Barcelona remains the gastronomic capital, being again the Spanish city that accumulates more Michelin stars: a total of 32.
Michelin-starred chefs trained in EUHT StPOL
Among all the restaurants that appear in the Michelin 2020 guide, six chefs that add 8 Michelin stars have a liaison with EUHT StPOL: it was one of the places where they were formed.
This is not the first year that EUHT StPOL alumni are listed as chef of restaurants in the Michelin Guide; in fact, most of them consolidate their star and one of them manages to add a second one and join the select club of 36 restaurants with two Michelin stars.
The EUHT StPOL Alumni with Michelin stars are:
- Benito Gomez– Restaurante Bardal ** (Ronda) – suma la segunda estrella Michelin en 2020
- Ramon Freixa– Restaurante Ramon Freixa Madrid ** (Madrid)
- Alejandro Sánchez– Restaurante Alejandro * (Roquetas de Mar)
- José Carlos Fuentes– El Club Allard * (Madrid)
- Miquel Aldana– Tresmacarrons * (El Masnou)
- Joel Castanyé– La Boscana * (Bellvís)
From EUHT StPOL we congratulate the chefs for their successes!
