“Learning by doing” is one of our claims, probably the one that better explains our philosophy and the concept of the Hotel School with its own training facilities.

Career Opportunities

Every year, H-E StPOL celebrates the Professional Development Days, event where the representatives of corporate recruiting of the most important hotel and restaurant companies come to the school to interview the students that complete their studies with the purpose of achieving their final internships and join the companies. The purpose is to design a career plan according to each profile and find a job through these professional internships.

The mission of the Professional Development Days is to make the students approach the national and international hospitality, touristic and restaurant leader groups. This relationship university–company offers the students the opportunity to participate in the presentations of the companies, get interviewed and establish labor links. These development days represent a meeting point between worldwide renowned touristic companies, with the best hotels, complexes and restaurants, and the students of the school with the purpose of continuing training them, getting them closer to the real professional world and help them to learn day by day under the H-E StPOL internship philosophy, “learning by doing”.

The professional development days have duration of 2 days. It was celebrated on February 3 and 5, 2015 during the course 2014-15. During the mornings, the company groups that participate in the event present their companies, philosophy and work culture, and in the afternoons they interview the students of the different programs of H-E StPOL. In the course 2014-15 an average of 3 interviews per student has been conducted that aims to get an entry in the labor world. This activity is addressed only to the students that complete their studies during the current academic course and members of the Association of Former Students

H-E StPOL is the Hotel School of reference for the sector since 1966 and it maintains a close relation with the leading national and international hotel and tourism companies. These groups participate in the professional development days in a rotated way, so that all go to the campus facilities, with the purpose of recruiting future workers. This confirms that the professional development days are a resource and a tool with a lot of potential for all its acting parties, which has to be taken care of before the current economic context. The 100% of the participants’ students get an internship program and the 94% of the participating students get a personal professional business plan after having finished their internship.
