12 November, 2019EUHT StPOL has hosted a professional seminar given by El Tenedor, a portal specialized in restaurant reservation management. The students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and those studying the Technical Degree in Gastronomy and Restaurant Service have experienced from first-hand the functionalities of this platform that allows digitalizing some aspects of a restaurant, like its reservations.
Technology is increasingly an essential part of restaurants, since in many cases it allows to streamline and optimize processes. And in this procedure of digitizing a restaurant, tools such as reservation management systems are an important part of it.
According to a survey conducted by the Spanish Hospitality Federation in 2018, 39% of restaurants and hotel establishments have a booking or online reputation management tool. And the survey also points out that in restaurants, El Tenedor is the most used portal for this purpose.
The weight of this platform in the restaurant sector makes it an element of study by the students of the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL) that in the future will become professionals in the sector of the hospitality, restaurant or events, among others.
Professional seminars
On this matter, this week the students of the third year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and of the Technical Degree in Gastronomy and Restaurant Service have participated in a seminar given by El Tenedor to learn first-hand the operation of this restaurant reservation management platform.
How to enter customer data, write down and / or cancel reservations, manage the database and use marketing tools to keep track of them have been some of the contents of the professional seminar with El Tenedor, a platform with a presence in 17 countries and with more than 65,000 restaurants; 11,000 of them in Spain.
The professional seminars aim to expand and complement the training received by the students of the different academic programs of EUHT StPOL. During the course, experts in different fields attend EUHT StPOL to teach a master class, conference or seminar on topics related to the hospitality, catering, tourism, culinary arts, gastronomy or professional image, among others.
