21 June, 2019The Bachelor’s and the Master’s thesis are a key moment for the students of the university. During the last weeks of the academic year, the students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, the Master in Hospitality Management and the Master in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management of EUHT StPOL present their projects in front of a jury formed by teachers and professionals of the sector. It is the previous step to obtain your degree and finish the 2018/2019 academic year.
First, it was the turn of the students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management that this year 2018/2019 finalize their studies at the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL). During two days, and before an evaluation of the tribunal, they defended their Bachelor’s thesis which interrelated different subjects and areas studied during the program.
A business plan to promote a dog-friendly restaurant with menu proposals also for pets; a rural hotel based on the concept of well-being in a physical, mental and social level; an event company specialized in luxury weddings; a study on the impact of temporary agency staff in the hotel sector; a paper on “turist phobia” in a district of the city of Barcelona; or a research project about talent management programs and management development in hotels boutique have been some of the topics discussed in the Bachelor’s thesis presented by the students of the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar.
The next to present their Master’s thesis were the students of the Master in Hospitality Management. The main goal of their thesis was to come up with an innovative idea in order to relate the subjects and concepts learned during the master’s degree. A Food & Beverage consultancy for investors who are evaluating opening a business in this sector; a rural hotel linked to the world of wine and enology with a marked accent towards guest experience or a restaurant with a gastronomic proposal based on cocoa and chocolate have been some of the topics covered in the projects presented by the students who have opted for the specialty of Hotel Management or Food & Beverage of the Master in Hospitality Management.
Finally, it was the turn of the students of the Master in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management of EUHT StPOL, both in the Spanish and English versions of the program. Throughout the course, they have been developing their Master’s thesis that they have presented to the evaluation board.
Projects with varied themes such as healthy home cooking, a restaurant specialized in reinterpreting works by artists, gastronomic fusion menus or signature cuisine or a home chef specialized in aphrodisiac cuisine, among many others.
After the presentation of their thesis’, the students now have ahead their professional future in the sector of hospitality and gastronomy through internship programs and / or employment contracts with companies in the area, which were achieved, in its vast majority, through the Professional Development Days of EUHT StPOL.
